Uncovering America’s Talent
October 26, 2022
Breakout Cities are shaping the new economy.
An exceptional moment is afoot in the United States, where we are redefining the life and economy of our cities through historic investments in infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, green & ag tech, and health care.
Many of these investments will be made in our cities and require tapping into existing talent as well as bringing new human capital to the workforce. This is an opportunity to grow new knowledge hubs and centers of excellence that will offer left-behind people the ability to benefit from America’s economic and social renewal.
The places doing this are Breakout Cities. And these cities are agents of equitable and innovative workforce development in a few key ways: funding workforce initiatives, regulating best practices, leading by example in their own hiring, and convening community stakeholders. New data-driven digital tools that encourage skill-based and inclusive hiring practices will be part of this.
Join CityAge, in collaboration with the Kauffman Foundation, on October 26 as we take a look at the Breakout Cities leading the way in workforce development, paving the way for a period of American renewal that includes everyone.
