CityAge VancouveR:
THE Urban Zero CHALLENGE
February 06, 2024 Fairmont Waterfront | 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (PT)
Decarbonizing Fast-Growing Cities
Vancouver — like every city in Canada — is facing two key challenges:
We must get to net zero emissions while meeting the housing and transportation needs of a country seeing record population growth.
Are we up to the challenge?
On February 6, CityAge Vancouver: The Urban Zero Challenge will set out how to reduce our carbon and environmental footprints through new applications in technology and AI, design, urban infrastructure and zoning.
Join us to meet the leaders from British Columbia and across North America who are meeting the Urban Zero challenge.
CityAge vancouver will address:
- Decarbonizing Cities: The huge economic opportunity in promoting clean technologies that can build low carbon cities.
- Zero Emission Buildings: New tools to accelerate the decarbonization of embodied carbon in existing buildings, as well as build more low or zero emission buildings.
- Connecting Cascadia: How high-speed rail, digital tools and new infrastructure can connect the entire region, not just its cities, and take Cascadia to the next level.
- Zero Emission Transportation: From personal vehicle charging infrastructure through medium and heavy duty applications in ports, freight and airports, we’ll look at the move to electrification and innovations in land, rail, sea and air.
- The New Developers: Vancouver is pioneering a new approach to urban development, by bringing in First Nations and developers to fast-track the creation of affordable housing stock while also lowering carbon emissions – through urban zero technologies.
